Active Steps

Active Steps is run in partnership with The Health Agency in Westerhailes and aims to support people living in South West Edinburgh to become more physically active & maintain a healthy diet in the long term. We will help you to make small changes in your everyday routines that will set you on track for a healthier lifestyle.

Who can benefit?

Being more active and eating nutritious food is a positive step for everyone and we know that these are behaviours that also have a positive impact on mental wellbeing. However your GP is likely to refer you to our services if you require help with any of the following:

  • weight management

  • Type 2 Diabetes

  • One or more long term conditions: COPD; Hypertension (High Blood Pressure); Arthritis.

Our activities are suitable for all levels of fitness regardless of your health and wellbeing. The process starts with an initial one to one chat to explore your individual health needs. Then you may be registered for one of our services or another service in Edinburgh – depending on what’s best for you and your current situation.
